The Community Youth Work

Cam and Candace Aitken, Esquimalt, BC

“The Community exists to establish contacts with youth, to challenge them to engage in a cause, and to connect them in intentional friendships that will inspire them to live life in all its fullness in Jesus.”

Report from Cam and Candace:

Cam and Candace

We are continuing to build contacts through a number of different avenues in Esquimalt. Cam continues to help out with an after school homework club at one of the local reservations once a week. Our breakfast program at Esquimalt High is going strong and growing in numbers. We usually see between 8 and 15 youth per morning with about 24 having made use of the service overall. If you or your church/organization would like to help sponsor this program to feed youth in need in Esquimalt please contact us.

We're now meeting as a youth group on the second and fourth Monday of the month and hanging out with youth in smaller groups during the other weeks.

Without a doubt, the need in Esquimalt is great. God continually makes it clear that we're here for a purpose as there are over 1700 youth in this municipality and no youth work except The Community endeavoring to see a movement of youth come into relationship with Jesus, the true Healer—to love them unconditionally and provide for their physical needs in His name.
